God bless my parents for bringing me up in a household full of incredible music. Some of the first songs I learned as a child were from the Beatles. I remember even as a kid loving the album art and movie for Yellow Submarine, Revlover and St. Pepper, and still reference them today in my work. One summer my brother and I even memorized all the dialogue in the movie HELP! Thanks mom and dad for the inspiration...Its feeling lke a Beatles kind of morning....

I am flying over America as I write this, off to another photo shoot, this time in my hometown of Los Angeles. Its a bit stuffy in here, with little kids kicking the back of my seat, cranky passengers, and recycled air....But outside, you can see for miles and miles and its beautiful.

I had the pleasure of seeing Brazilian born artist Muti Randolph's 3-D Light and Sound sculpture this last summer at the NYC event for The Creators Project. I was a little tipsy, had just seen Interpol play in the garage of Milk Studios, and we ran around inside the sculpture before a "handler" told us and few other revelers to cut it out....It was very simple yet very beautiful experience.

Talita is an amazing artist from Brazil who has an incredible grasp on the flat, 2-D look I'm ever trying to master. Plus the images are always loaded with so much interesting content and symbolism I never get bored trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the painting.

Animals on fire, electric towers, burnt out trees, barns and crying birds....well why not?

Yep, we did it again a couple of months ago and shot another whiskey filled photo shoot for Bushmills.

This time we worked with fashion PR Guru and founder of the blog A Continuous Lean - Michael Williams as well as rising star indie music darling - Theophilus London.

Between the shoot and the launch party, I had so much fun I needed a couple of months to recover before posting about it.

After a brief hiatus from You're Awesome Dude, where I was forced to focus on my day job rather than blogging or making any artwork of my own, I'm back in the saddle again and ready for an incredible new year filled with some pretty awesome shit.

Let's face it, 2010 kind of blew. It was a year filled with some highs, but some really crappy lows as well...tough times for all. Last year was basically the time equivalent of Debbie Downer.

BUT, this new year, like all new years before, holds great promise to be pretty f-ing rad if we let it......I know I'm excited!

I'm ready to take 2011 head on and tame the beast!

Steven Slater is my new hero! In case you don't know who this is, Slater is the Jet Blue flight attendant who after being hit in the head by a passenger and belittled, freaked out told the passenger "fuck you" over the intercom, stole some beer and hopped out of the plane on the inflatable slide schute. Hells Yeah Dude!
